Bipartisan polling firm RABA Research conducted an online survey of 511 registered voters in Louisiana May 9 – 11, 2025. The survey looked at respondents’ opinions on workers’ rights and legislative priorities. This is RABA’s second survey of Louisiana voters’ opinions on similar issues.
When asked to identify the issues “you believe should be the highest priority for Louisiana legislators” respondents answered –
Economy/Jobs | 49% |
Protecting health care | 18% |
Property & Auto Insurance | 17% |
Infrastructure | 13% |
Weakening worker protections | 3% |
Importantly, 97% of respondents did not answer “weakening worker protections” should be the highest priority.
And 76% of respondents said they would be “less likely to support elected officials if they helped weaken workers’ rights”.
The results of this survey show –
- 82% of respondents “believe Louisiana’s public sector workers–like educators, first responders, and workers who maintain Louisiana’s parks and infrastructure–should be able to join a labor union if they want to”.
- 81% of respondents “believe Louisiana’s public sector workers should continue to have the freedom to contribute a portion of their paychecks to their union”.
